Andrew Proctor, Jr. Obituary

A Million Times
A million times we’ll miss you,
A million times we will cry
If love alone would have saved you,
You would have never died
In life we loved you dearly; in death we love you still
In our hearts you hold a place no other one can fill
Memories are treasures that no one can steal
Death is a heartache that no one can heal
Some may forget you now that you are gone
But, we still remember, no matter how long
We miss you now, our hearts are sore,
As times goes by, we’ll miss you more
Your loving infectious smile, your loving face;
No one can fill your vacant place.
You will forever live in our hearts!
The Family

Andrew Lee Proctor, Jr. was born in Caruthersville, Missouri on October 31, 1961 to Ruthie Mae Proctor and Andrew Lee Proctor, Sr. He was affectionately known as “Luck” to his family
and friends. Andrew accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Vernon Memorial Apostolic Faith Church under the leadership of the late Suffragan Bishop Elder T. J. Melton, in Mound Bayou, Mississippi. He received his early education at H.M. Nailor and East Side High Schools in Cleveland, MS. Luck was an adventurous person! He loved to travel and spent time in Flint, MI, South Bend, IN, Pullman, WA, St. Paul, MN and Jackson, MS. His love for traveling was coupled with his love for the great outdoors. He absolutely loved hunting and fishing. Gathering wood for a bone fire and sitting around it with family and friends was also a staple activity that he enjoyed doing. Andrew was good with his hands. He could fix almost anything and was skilled at carpentry and painting. He worked many jobs throughout the years. A couple of positions included lab technician at Washington State University in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Material Handing at Federal Express in Memphis, TN. At times, he was around to assist family members with babysitting. It was through these times, he developed a strong bond with the younger generation family members.

Andrew departed this life on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Ruthie Mae Proctor, his father, Andrew Lee Proctor, Sr.; grandparents, Annie Mae Grady, Nathaniel Wilson, Sr., and Clarence and Willie Proctor. He leaves to cherish his memory: One (1) daughter, Kokeya Vaughn of Lewisville, TX; Six (6) devoted siblings-- Three (3) sisters, Dorothy (Charles) White, Pearlie Smith, Cynthia Powell all of Cleveland, MS; Three (3) brothers, Larry (Kimberley) Proctor of Ruston, LA, DeWayne (Dyshetra) Proctor of Cleveland, MS, and Don (Danielle) Proctor of Memphis, TN; One (1) granddaughter, Kayla Vaughn; Two (2) Aunts, Della Edwards and Jackie Grady; Two (2) Uncles, Willie D. (Ethel Whitehall and Lamar (Kim) Grady; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Andrew was a fun-loving person who enjoyed having fun. We will remember that he lived….he
laughed….and he loved.
