Bobbie Jean Keaton-Martin a beautiful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, and friend, who was generous, kind, and caring to the end of her journey. The last born to Percy and Ora Lee Evans Keaton on 8.23.48 arrived in heaven on 5.28.24 to join her spouse of 54 years, Arthur Lee Martin, Sr, her granddaughter Gabrielle Q. Martin, and her siblings - Newt, Oddis, Charlie, Rosa Lee, Pearlie, Willie B, Susie, Otha, Percy Jr., Lavertis.
Bobbie was a strong follower, servant, and teacher of her Father Yahweh and Savior Jesus Christ. She loved people and was always willing to give to others of her resources that was granted to her by the Father. She also served diligently at New Kingdom MB Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Randolph Seals, Sr., and she later joined New Jerusalem under the current leadership of Pastor Dexter Brown until her health rendered her unable to attend.
In her younger life, she enjoyed serving her community at the Bolivar County Hospital, Baxter Laboratories, and Bell Elementary School. She and her late husband loved to travel and visit family near and far. She made faithful and long-term friends through her church family and her softball girlfriends, where they would gather to play at the old ball field in the Eastgate Section of Cleveland. Later, she was part of a social circle of girlfriends with her BFF, Azaree Moore. Bobbie was a seamstress and a great cook and was known community-wide and in many states for her chicken salad, pound cake, and potato salad. Many family and community members sought her home to find refuge for whatever amount of time they needed. Although they would rest, they would also be under her wisdom, laughter, quick remarks, and advice, whether they wanted it or not.
To cherish in her beautiful legacy are her three children and their spouses: Gwendolyn and Terrance Smith, Tyra and John Johnson, and her son, who is her twin in Spirit, Arthur and Katrina Martin. Flourishing in her garden are her grandchildren and their spouses: Tia Smith, Terrance Smith, Jr, Reginald and Yolanda Martin, Kennedy Martin, Alissa Martin, and great-grandchild Adriyan McLeod. With fond memories, she leaves a special group of family and friends who loved and cared for her until she departed this Life: Emma, Louis, Deloris, Lonnie, Angel, Shondria Keaton, Azaree Moore, Anajannette Robinson, Mildred Slaughter, Curtis and Mary Hunter and her adopted children Barry Cannon and Rita. Bobbie was an extraordinary woman who lived a wonderful life and is an example of love in action to us all.
