Brittney Nicole Sanders, affectionately known as “Britt-Britt”, began her journey on November 23, 1988, at the Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, Mississippi. Born to proud parents, Robert and Tracey Sanders, she was welcomed home by her big sister, Krystal.
As a baby, she was cared for, with love and affection, by her great-grandmother, Mrs. Mamie Brown, who kept her during the day. During her early childhood years, she attended Bolivar County Head Start Center #2. She matriculated through Cleveland School District attending Hayes Cooper Center for Math Science and Technology and Pearman Elementary. Just as Brittany was headed to middle school, her family moved to Jackson where she attended Peoples Middle School, as her father, Robert, had been sworn in to the MS State Senate as Sgt-At-Arms. After the family moved back to Cleveland, Brittney attended East Side High School. She was a proud alumna of Maranatha Christian Academy, graduating on May 21, 2006. Her educational journey continued at Coahoma Community College where she furthered her knowledge and learning and formed lasting friendships and created fond memories.
At the age of 5, Brittney professed her belief in Christ and was baptized on August 15, 1993 ,at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. J. A. Martin, Sr, in Cleveland, Mississippi. Her love for God was evident in every aspect of her life, and her unwavering commitment to her faith guided her through all the joys and challenges she faced. Throughout her journey, she worshiped and praised God at several locations in the area , but she always came back home to Pilgrim Rest.
From a young age, Brittney captivated everyone with her gray and hazel-green sparkle eyes and her vibrant spirit. She embraced life with an open heart and a smile that could brighten even the cloudiest day. Brittney found immense joy and companionship at the Exquisite and United adult daycares that she attended, and her personality left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Brittney's life was a celebration of connection and her bond with her family was as strong as it was cherished. Her ability to connect with people from all walks of life was nothing short of extraordinary; she never met a stranger and made everyone feel like an old friend. Britt was like a box of chocolates-we never knew what we were going to get, but her heart was full of love and those who knew her best can appreciate her for her authenticity.
Her zest for life was infectious. Brittney approached each day with an exuberance that uplifted those around her. Whether she was sharing a laugh, lending a helping hand, or simply brightening someone's day with her presence, her impact was profound and far-reaching. This was witnessed as she spent many years volunteering with the Bolivar County Head Start program, primarily offering administrative support. Her determination, compassion, and commitment to helping others will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.
As we remember Brittney, we celebrate the joy she brought into our lives and the many ways she uplifted us all. Her spirit will live on in the countless memories she created and the love she shared so freely. Though we mourn her loss, we find solace in knowing that her legacy of unshakeable commitment to her faith, her joy, and her love will continue to inspire us all. Brittney's departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit will forever remain a guiding light in our hearts. We take comfort in knowing that she lived her life fully, loved deeply, and touched the lives of so many.
