Obituary
Deshundra Shondrell Tate was born on August 22, 1990, to Brenda Tate and Cornell Nash. Deshundra
achieved her education under the tutelage of St. Gabriel Missionary School and continued with the
Cleveland School District. She was a member of the 2009 Cleveland High School graduating class. Upon
completion of graduating, she attended Coahoma Community College majoring in Business. During her
times at Coahoma Deshundra enjoyed traveling and singing with the school choir. She loved to sing
gospel songs she learned in the church.
She was baptized at an early age in 1997 and became a member of the New Kingdom Missionary Baptist
church under the leadership of the late Rev. Randolph Seals, Sr. She sang in the New Kingdom Church
Choir until changing her church home in 2015 to Vernon Memorial Apostolic Church under the
leadership of Elder Williams Cummings where she remained until her passing. She sang in the choir at
Vernon Memorial as well. Deshundra was a friend to many and could talk your ear off when giving the
chance. She was readily available when a phone call was made. In life she had many roles of daughter,
niece, cousin, and most importantly her greatest role of Mother.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Juanita Tate, and her grandfather Jackson Tate, her uncles
Melvin and Marvin Tate. She leaves to cherish her memories and love her mother Brenda Tate of
Cleveland, Mississippi. Her father Cornell Nash of Columbus, Ohio. A host of aunts, uncles, family, and
friends.
Kendra Tate Obituary
Kendra Nicole Tate departed this life on August 30, 2022. She born on July 23, 2017, to the late
Deshondra Tate and Kenyatta Garfield. She was known to all her friends, family, and teachers as an
outgoing, bubbly, and energetic girl. Her favorite activity was being outside and being with her dog
Bella. She loved to sing, dance, and teach others. She had dreams of becoming a teacher or nurse.
Kendra was intelligent, funny, and kind to anyone she encountered. She was an excellent student,
excellent daughter and niece and wonderful friend to all at school.
Kendra is survived by her father, Kenyatta Garfield. Her grandmother, Brenda Tate of Cleveland, MS and
grandfather, Carnell Nash of Columbus, Ohio, grandmother Felicia Garfield of Cleveland, MS. And a host
of aunts, uncles, family, and friends.
