Our beloved Dories Lee Richardson was born December 13, 1942 to the late Lish and Vinnie Sutton in Merigold, Mississippi. She was the third of seven children.
Dories accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Old St. Phillip Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the Reverend L. R. Skipper. Though out her life, Dories remained a faithful member and was currently under the leadership of Pastor Leroy Carter III.
Dories was educated in the public school in Cleveland, Mississippi. She attended H.M. Nailor Colored Consolidated School where she was a member of the basketball team. Dories was employed at Baxter Healthcare until retirement.
Dories Lee Richardson department this life on January 10, 2024 at home. She was preceded in death by her mother, Vinnie Sutton, and father, Lish Sutton; her maternal grandparents Lillie Lee Hutton and Joe Hutton; paternal grandparents, Steve Sutton and Linnie Sutton; her son, Tracey T. Richardson, and her sister, Erdis Sutton Hill.
Dories leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Roosevelt Richardson, Sr; three children, Roosevelt (Sandra) Richardson, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, Sharon R. Richardson and Gregory Richardson, both of Cleveland, Mississippi; three sisters, Catherine Carter, Mildred (Johnny) Hughes, Shirley (Vincent) Holmes, all of Cleveland, Mississippi; two brothers, Lish (Trisha) Sutton, Jr. and James (Carolyn) Sutton, both of Cleveland, Mississippi; a sister-in-law, Cora Bell Richardson, a Goddaughter, Ethel Winters; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
