Eddie Thomas Obituary

Eddie C. Thomas was born on April 4, 1949, to the union of the late Mary Eddie Thomas and the late A.C. Thomas of Ruleville, MS. He gained his wings Monday, October 24, 2022, at the age of 73.

At an early age he confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a member of the Ruleville Central High School Marching Band, where he displayed his talent on the saxophone. He was also revered for his artistic abilities as the school artist. After graduation, he married the love of his life, Betty Jean Thomas and the two moved to Toledo, OH where he enhanced his artistic abilities in trade school becoming a ceramic artist. Upon mastering the art of ceramics, he and his wife returned to Ruleville, MS where they began their lives.

Eddie was known around Ruleville for his cooking skills, especially on the grill, his fresh suits, and his smooth moves on the dance floor. He was known across the delta for his ceramic art which was displayed in many households. In his early years, his work history included assembly of automobile parts at Douglas and Lomason, ground keeper at United Methodist Church and a proprietor of his ceramic art.  He was known for many things, but most importantly, he was known for the love and support he gave his family.

Mr. Eddie C. Tomas was united in holy matrimony to Betty Jean Thomas on July 30, 1973. To this union three children were born, one son: Eddie C. Thomas Jr (proceeded him in death); and two daughters: Tiffany (Avis) Gary of Cleveland, MS; and April (Jatrone) Marable of Christiana, TN.

Eddie Leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, children, four grandchildren: Aniya Danyale Mitchell, Bryce Nicholas Mitchell, Bella Amber-Rose Marable and Ava Isabelle Marable; four sisters and six brothers: Bertha (Willie) Aken of Ruleville, MS; Virgil (Robert) Gray of Freeport, IL;  Diane (Parker) Cooper of Flora, MS; Helen Aldridge of Jackson, MS; Melvin (Adlene) Thomas of Freeport, IL; Willie (Fannie) Neal of Cleveland, MS; Charles (Vera) Thomas of Freeport, IL; JB Thomas of Jackson, MS; J.
