EDDIE T. WILLIAMS, SR. was born April 21, 1943, in Doddsville, MS to the proud parents of Eddie B. Williams and Leola Sanders. He was the only brother to three sisters. After losing his mother at an early age, he was raised by his grandmother, Julia Sanders. Eddie attended East Side High School before enrolling in the U.S. Navy. He worked at Douglas & Lomason for years before opening his own lawn care services and then electronic repair services.
In 1963, Eddie met the love of his life, Mary Harris. They were united in Holy matrimony in 1969 and were married for fifty three years. Eddie enjoyed sports and coached little league football through the Cleveland Park Commission for years, leading many teams to championships.
He became a member of United Baptist Church many years ago and remained a devoted member until his death. As a member of United Baptist, he served as an usher, deacon, male choir president, and became an ordained minister of the gospel on February 21, 1999. Eddie departed this earthly life on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Bolivar County Hospital.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Mary Williams; two sons, Ferrish (Carla) Williams, Eddie (Kiescha) Williams, Jr., two daughters, Remetra (Anthony) Dixon, LaSonya Eskridge; two sisters, Mary Crockam, Mary Martin; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
