Ethel Lee Beamon was born May 29th, 1950, to Reverend Eldridge Earl Beamon and Josephine (Precious) Hatch in Cleveland MS. She accepted Christ at a young age and attended service at New Saint Phillips under the leadership of Reverend JD Story.
Her early years, she went to East Side High School where she ran track. Ethel graduated from East Side in the year of 1968. She later attended Delta State University where she double majored in education, music and sang in the Opera.
Ethel worked at Bell, later known as Bell South, for a number of years as an operator. She retired after a long tenure of 25 years at the MDOC as a Disciplinary Chairperson. Ethel was an excellent cook; her homemade biscuits, caramel, and pound cakes, were to die for. She enjoyed attending church and singing in the choir at New Saint Phillips.
Ethel leaves to cherish her memories, children: Corey (Isidra Yasmin) Jones, Juana Carlize, John (Senetra) Jones, Natalie Carlize Thomas, grandchildren: Candace Jones, Corey Jones Jr, Aislinn Jones, Jonathan Jones, Jonelle Jones, Nathan Carlize, Gregory Perkins II, Joshua Stewart, Her brother Eldridge EarlBeamon Jr, sisters Barbara Annette (Beamon) Fizer, Mary Vince, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Ethel was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Billy Beamon, James Paul Beamon, Larry Beamon, Charlie Ray Beamon, Ollie Kay Beamon, Joe Beamon, Doris Fay Beamon, and Mickey Lynn Beamon.
