Ethel Moore was born June 5, 1949, in Shaw, Mississippi to Charles and Rebecca Forest. She was baptized and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. For years, Ethel was a source of encouragement to many children through her work as a teacher’s aide at Nailor Elementary School in Cleveland, Ms. as well as the Bolivar County Head Start Program.
Ethel was an avid reader who would quickly trade conversations for a mystery or Western novel. While she sometimes enjoyed television shows, she simply did not miss her favorite show, “Jeopardy.” With a quick mind and tongue, Ethel relished the idea of using her jeopardy wit, sprinkled with sassy grit, to challenge those who challenged her.
An aunt to many beloved nieces and nephews, Ethel enjoyed the attention she received from them. When she needed to be, she was a surrogate mother, a trusted confidante, and friend. She was well known in her community.
Ethel was preceded in death by her two sons, Jeffery and Jamie. She leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her passing a beloved son, Adrian “Ace” Bradley Forest; three brothers, Arthur Forest, Eddie (Doll) Forest, both of Cleveland, Ms., and Eugene Forest of Powder Springs, Ga.; four sisters, Charlestine Forest of Jackson, Ms., Corine Griffin of Cleveland, Ms., Mary (John) Prince of Cordova, TN, Lessieseen (Joe) Johnson of Marrietta, Ga., and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
