George Howard Obituary

On June 20, 1953, the world was graced with the arrival of George Edward “PeeWee”
Howard. PeeWee was the 2nd child of Thelma Thomas and Willie B Howard. He confessed his
hope in Christ at an early age at Seven Star Missionary Baptist Church in Scott, Mississippi.
PeeWee was a graduate of Nugent Center Senior High School Class of 1972. He also
attended Delta State University Emerging Leaders of America Program. PeeWee entered the
workforce at a very early age as an Electrician for Delta & Pine Land, which would later be
sold to Monsanto, then again to Bayer. (Come on people, get it together). He retired from
Bayer after over 50 years. (Yes, over 50, not 48, Bayer). PeeWee was a man of many talents
& trades. He was Chief of the Volunteer Fire Department, he was a plumber, carpenter, & for
a short time, he was over the water department, Yes, a man of many trades.

In the hot boy summer of 1972, PeeWee took Levern to see Florida Mae in Pace,
Mississippi. PeeWee looked at Lois (Blanche), Lois looked at PeeWee, Lillie Mae looked at all
of them and said “Alright Lois, it’s after 8” (Get them ninjas out of my house), they left and
Lois proclaimed to Lillie Mae,”that’s gon be my husband” and the rest is history. PeeWee and
Lois was later married on December 24, 1973, Raymond Young as his Best Man and Florida
Mae as her maid of honor. In April of 1974, here comes “Poncho”, Denae and Alijah’s daddy,
Shai’s granddaddy, yes, him, Anthony (Edward Howard). Next, who would grace the world
with her regal presence, me, Angie, Ledo, Nahnah, the Empress herself, Angelia (Rochelle
Howard) Campbell (Don’t ask), came on a beautiful autumn morning in November of 1975.
(Mom and dad, what were you all doing on Valentine’s Day?). Moving on down the roster.
Mom got her best and worst (he was a hollering kid) Mother’s Day gift in the summer of
1978, George Junior (as Rayferd calls him), Pooh Bear, Edward; Torshia, Georsanna, and
Layla’s daddy, Vernestine’s husband, George Edward Howard, II. (He also has a plethora of
grandchildren, stepchildren, bonus children and I don’t feel like naming them all). I guess 3
children wasn’t enough, they embarked upon an adventure that would change the trajectory
of several children. They decided to become foster parents to many children until one day, 2
little girls pricked their hearts and they decided to adopt. Kimberly Michelle and ToRhonda
Delois and things got really interesting to say the least. With this beautiful addition came 6
beautiful grandkiddos, Mileke, Kevin, DaKylah, Sadeja, Larry, and lawd, Kaden Keyshawn.

Let’s move on from PeeWee and Lois’ brood. Let’s talk about all of their bonus
children. Odester Denae Robinson (Dessie, Witchy Poo) who is their niece-daughter, Sherrick
Sade Gladney (Shabba, Sade), Quantavious Phillips (Wally, Beau Beau), Jeremy Beasley, and
many others. (If I have forgotten anyone, give me a break, I’m grieving, schucks!)
My dad, PeeWee, had a heart of gold. A very loving, very kind and giving person. Just
don’t get on his bad side. He leaves many to mourn but also cherish all of the many
memories and celebrate the time we were allowed to have with him.

Again, his first born, Anthony Edward Howard, Angelia Rochelle Howard (Campbell,
again, don’t ask), George Edward Howard, II (Vernestine), Kimberly Michelle Howard, and
ToRhonda Delois Howard (Terrell). His siblings, Roseanne Black (Michael), Erma Howard,
Mary Howard, and James Howard. Let’s not forget the entire Sproulls family, Wil, Liv, Fred,
Will #2, Val, and the Dude of all Dudes. His Godmother, Ruby Jean Miller and his loving
Godsister, Takita “Tweety” Rodgers.

PeeWee’s ancestors and God has been waiting on him. Those who have gone on
before are his mom, Thelma Howard, his father, Willie B Howard, his grandmother, Mae
Esther Williams, his brother, Samuel Howard, and his sister, Lynn Howard.

To my family and friends (which are chosen family), we do life a little backwards. We
celebrate when a child is born and mourn when a loved one leaves this plane. Let’s celebrate
when they leave here. This ole earth is just for learning and experiencing, not our home.
George Edward “PeeWee” Howard has past the test for now. Let’s celebrate him and love on
people as he did. He put others before himself, especially those he loved and cared for. I
meant for this obituary to be funny and enjoyable, if you were offended, get some therapy, it
WORKS! May whatever you believe in keep you and bless you.
