Johnnie Lee Beamon was born July 13, 1928 to the late John Braxton and Lela Joyce of Dockery, MS
Johnnie later moved from Dockery to Cleveland, MS and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a choir member and Mother at New Saint Phillip Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Larry L. King.
Johnnie met Herbert Beamon, Sr. and later united in Holy Matrimony.
Over the years Johnnie worked for Cleveland Consolidated schools as a crossing guard and cafeteria worker.
On Friday, October 20, 2023, Johnnie bid farewell to her earthly life and peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home.
She was preceded in death by her parents John (Lela) Braxton, sisters Olemp Nathaniel, Teola Harris, and ErmaLee Townsend, brothers LK Braxton, Arthur Braxton, and James Braxton.
She leaves to cherish her memories daughters Debra Beamon of Cleveland, MS, Jacqueline (Wilfred) Lunford of Rosedale, MS, sons Herbert (Juanita) Beamon Jr. of Ottumwa, IA Kristopher Beamon of Cleveland, MS, fourteen grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She also leaves an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
