Reflection on the Life of
Lonnie Lynch Sr.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course. I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for
me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me on that day: and not
only me, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
2 Timothy 4:7-8
Lonnie Lynch Sr. was born to the late Son & Alberta Lynch in Merigold, MS. On August 13, 2023, he
answered the Lord’s final call on his life as he transitioned from labor to reward. Lonnie accepted Christ
as his personal Savior at an early age. He was a member of First Baptist M.B. Church in Merigold,
Mississippi, where he served as deacon under the leadership of Pastor Bobby L. Williams.
Lonnie was a very professional and dedicated hard worker. He was the owner and operator of Lonnie’s
Body Shop for over forty -three years.
Lonnie loved loved loved his family. He was a compassionate and humble man who loved all his family.
He often spoke of his wife and children during conversations with others. He was a caring spirit and
didn’t mind helping those in need. He loved to give advice and encourage others to do great things.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents Son & Alberta Lynch; his sisters Katie Williams, Lure Lynch
& Linda Jean Lynch; brothers Willie & Clarence Lynch; one daughter Amelia Lee Lewis; and one grand-
daughter Dominque Shamone Lynch.
Lonnie leaves to cherish his memories; his wife Elizabeth Lynch of Merigold, MS; four daughters Victoria
(Charles) Sellers of Merigold, MS, Francine (Lonnie) Carmicle of Mound Bayou, MS, Linda Lynch of
Merigold, MS, Litisha (Richard) Miller of Shelby, MS; one son Lonnie (Melissa) Lynch Jr. of Horn Lake, MS;
five sisters Sadie Whitney of Rosedale, MS, Rosemary Melton & Annie Thomas of Indio, CA, Daisy Lynch
of Ruleville, MS, Maxine Lynch of Cleveland, MS; 8 grandchildren Latoya, Cordarrius, Anthony, LaKedra,
Dorien, Adrian, Lonnie III and Zoe’;5 great-grandchildren Jabien, Kamarion, Kyson, Jayemei, Zayne and a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
