Our beloved LouJonnie Brown was born November 20, 1936 to the late Jessie Mae Green and raised by her darling grandmother Corine Gee, in Boyle, Mississippi.
LouJonnie accepted Christ at an early age under Reverend L.L. Laws at St. Peter’s Rock Baptist Church. She later moved his membership to New Kingdom M. B. Church under Pastor Randolph Seals, Sr.
LouJonnie was educated in the public school system in Cleveland, Mississippi. She attended H.M. Nailor Colored Consolidated School. LouJonnie working career included The Holiday Inn and Baxter’s.
LouJonnie departed this life February 26, 2025, in Cleveland, MS. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Brown, Sr.; daughter, Demetrice Brown; mother, Jessie Mae Green; grandmother, Corine Gee; sisters, Mary Alice McGee and Lily Mae Green; brothers, Walter Curtis Green, Gregory Green, James Green, and Harry Lee Gee.
LouJonnie leaves to cherish his memories: two sons, David Brown, Jr., and Charles Brown, of Cleveland, Mississippi; two daughters, Lynette Brown Kizart and Margaret Brown of Memphis, Tennessee; special grandchildren she raised: Vanity Brown, Dejah McWain, Dervon McWain, Dominique Brown, and Derrick Thomas, Jr., all of Cleveland, Mississippi; Mario Brown of Dallas, Texas; and Nikeya Curtis of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters, Alice Lee of Dallas, Texas, Corine Smiley, Donna Green, and Velma Green, all of Cleveland; brothers, Jerome Green and Floyd Green of Cleveland, Mississippi.
