Michael Glenndale Adams was born April 5, 1964 he was preceeded in death by mother Ethel D Adams, father Robert Morris, and one sister Willie Mae Hobbs. He accepted Christ at an early age.
He was united in holy matrimony to Debra Collins and to this union four sons were born.
He attended Shelby Elementary School and graduated from Broad Street High School. He continued his education at Mississippi Delta Community College and Arkansas State University. He was the 67th overall player drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the 3rd round of the 1987 NFL DRAFT. In his NFL career, Michael played also with the Buffalo Bills and Arizona Cardinals. Michael later attended Delta State University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 2002.
Accolades
In 2005 Michael accepted a coaching position at Randolph Clay High School in Cuthbert, GA that afforded him the opportunity to coach his sons for 3 seasons.
Coach Michael Adams’ legacy continued to his Alma Mater. Shelby Middle School - Mighty 13th (this is one of his proudest moments)While coaching at the middle school, he had a team of 13 football players that lead that a 6-0 winning record the first half of the football season, they called them the Mighty 13 because they couldn’t be stopped.
As an Assistant Coach at Broad Street High, Michael help lead the team to round 3 of post season play.
To honor his legacy the city of Shelby named a street after him.
He leaves to cherish his memory Michael (Kiara) Adams Jr., Marcus(Andrea)Adams, Mikell Adams, Matthew (Elle) Adams, Jennifer (Mario)Burks, Jeremy Hibbler, Atoya Collins, Ashley (Omarr) Conners. He had (12 grandkids). He is survived by James (Walter Pearl) Bradley, Geneva Bradley, Willie (Elizabeth)Bradley, Laurene (Westly)Banks, John Harris, Minnie Lee (Eddie) Robinson, Willie Lee (Vera) Adams Jr. , Samuel (Ruby) Adams, Jacqueline (Williams) Johnson and Debra Ann Adams (sister on dad side name). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
