Samuel Lee Washington was born on April 11, 1963 to the late Earnestine Bell and the late Monroe Washington.
“A time to plant”
Sam was born and reared in Chicago. He moved to Mississippi and made the City of Rosedale his home. Sam was a handyman. He worked various odd jobs in the communities where he lived. He would always strike up a conversation with whomever he met.
“A time to pluck up that which is planted”
“Lil Sam”, as he was affectionally called by his family, departed this world on July 12, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, and his brother (Albert Bell).
Samuel Lee Washington leaves to cherish his memories: Three brothers: R.L. Washington (Ruby) of Beulah, MS; Monroe Bell (Clara); James Washington and Curtis Ross (Janice) of Chicago, Il; Doris Bell (Sister-in-Law): Two Uncles: A.C. Washington of New Orleans; William C. Bell (Dorian) of Seattle, WA; Two aunts: Mae Rosie Johnson (Sam) of Pace, MS; and Murray J. Williams of Ahoskie, NC: Two Great-Aunts: Emma D. Fields and Thelma Rogers of Cleveland, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
