Remembering Sharon

Sharon Lanese Butler was born June 15, 1965, in Rosedale, Mississippi to the late Alex and Elois Butler. She confessed a strong faith in Christ at an early age at C. A. Burke M. B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Tom Meeks. She later became a member of Mt. Hebron M. B. Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Andrew Williams. She was also an active member of the choir.
Sharon was a talented and creative person. She loved singing, attending gospel programs/concerts, and being the family’s beautician. She attended Rosedale High School and Coahoma Community College. She majored in Criminal Justice. Sharon was a dedicated employee with the State of Mississippi as a Benefit Program Specialists for 29 years. She enjoyed helping others.
To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. Sharon is preceded in death by her grandparents, Costello and Willie Hill; sister, Shonnie (Melvin) Harris, brother, Keith Butler; aunts, Frankie Grisby and Willie Mae Harvey; and god-son LaDarius Jackson. She entered eternity on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
Sharon’s life will forever be cherished in the lives of her loving daughter, Latrinda Butler, granddaughter, Paisley Butler of Jackson, MS; devoted nieces, Jamila (Millaun) Brown of Canton, MS and Keithea Turner of Memphis, TN; a caring nephew, Nolan Buter of Rosedale, MS; great nieces, Kensley and Kaylee Brown of Canton, MS; devoted goddaughters, Tyshonda (Whayde) Wilson Peddie of Byram, MS, Sherrell (Derrick) Bennett Miller of Memphis, TN, and Reneka (LaTarris) Richardson Howard of Atlanta, GA; a loving god-niece, Meesha Lessie of Greenville, MS; and special cousin, Ann Keys of Memphis, TN; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will never forget her.
